£1,955 raised for ambulance charity in 2023/24

In 2023, our One Broker Ambulance team continued their fundraising mission for their long-standing charity partner, The Ambulance Staff Charity (TASC).

Previous years have seen them saddle up for epic bike rides, throwing themselves out of planes and cooking up cakes. So, what have they been up to over the last 12 months?

Let’s hop to it

Our team kicked off their fundraising year by signing up for the world’s largest inflatable obstacle course. Rob Rowley, Shane Ford, Claire Gryzowski, Ian Digby and Jack McManus all laced up their trainers to bounce, hop and climb the huge course, which spanned 5 kilometres and featured a massive 32 obstacles.

The racers really showed their team spirit and were all able to successfully complete the course. In even better news, they bounced beyond their original fundraising target of £600, raising a total of £670 for their efforts.

Miles for March

In spring, the team readied themselves for another fundraising feat!

For this challenge, they set themselves the task of covering 100 miles each over the course of March, which they could complete by cycling, walking or running. To add a little spice to the event, the Torque Bike team also got in on the action, setting themselves the same goal to raise money for their chosen charity, Ben.

The race was now on to clock up more miles than Torque Bike!

The competition ramped up over the month, but the One Broker Ambulance crew triumphed over their fierce rivals. All bar one of the team met (and far exceeded!) their 100-mile goal, with 548.8 miles covered in total.

In addition to feeling the warm glow of victory, One Broker Ambulance also raised a fantastic sum of £360 for TASC.

Going green

Even after such a mammoth feat, our team was far from feeling jaded about their fundraising efforts. They were therefore keen supporters of TASC’s first-ever Green Monday initiative, which sought to raise money and awareness by asking supporters to wear green for a day.

Pounds for premiums

Our team didn’t just work hard in their spare time to raise money for TASC. As a business, we also pledged to donate £15 to TASC for every Private Ambulance Insurance policy sold. Our new business team poured plenty of effort into this initiative, resulting in additional donations totalling £825.

Why we’re supporting TASC

We’re thrilled to announce that the team raised a grand total of £1,955 over the course of this financial year.

This money will go towards TASC’s valuable work supporting past and present ambulance staff, in addition to their families, as well as student paramedics and ambulance service volunteers.

Their services are dedicated to supporting the mental, physical and financial health of the nation’s incredible ambulance staff. Support comes in the form of counselling, physical rehabilitation and access to a financial expert.

TASC also runs the Ambulance Staff Crisis Phoneline, a unique telephone service in the UK that provides confidential support to ambulance staff who are experiencing suicidal thoughts.
